Fiagril adere ao Pacto Global da ONU e fortalece as boas práticas sociais e ambientais
Fiagril signed its adhesion to the United Nations Organization (UNO) Global Compact, considered one of the main corporate sustainability initiatives in the world. The pact mobilizes the international business community to adopt fundamental values in the areas of human rights, labor relations, environment and the fight against corruption.
The action strengthens the company’s commitment to integrate social, environmental and governance factors into its business. Fiagril’s CEO, Henrique Mazzardo, explains the importance of joining. “We work to transform lives by connecting sustainable production to the world, and we are increasingly strengthening this principle in all our actions,” he says.
Fiagril operates in the market acting with commitment to important treaties that show the company’s commitment to environmental preservation actions and management in transparency. Among them, the Soy Moratorium, Soja Plus Program, and the Tesouro Verde Seal, among others.
“Our goal is to always work with the highest level of transparency with all partners and society. We want to increasingly expand our activities, but with the certainty that we are contributing to a responsible and conscious advance. And the UN Global Compact is an example of this, a step towards sustainable production”, highlights Henrique Mazzardo.
SDGs
By joining the Global Compact, Fiagril is also responsible for contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a UN initiative dedicated to engaging countries and companies to act in critical areas for global sustainable development. As a signatory, the company supports and disseminates this global goal to its partners and employees.
In the overall, there are 17 macro objectives, which have the goal of being fully achieved by 2030. This requires concrete actions from governments, society and its signatories, actions that make possible, for example, the fight against inequality and injustice, achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women, act against climate change, among others.
